Product Care & Help Guide
Product Care & Help Guide
Kitchen cookware and wash stands face frequent exposure to high heat, cooking fats, acidic ingredients, water, and regular cleaning detergents.
This guide offers practical recommendations to help you maintain the appearance, longevity, and performance of your kitchen supplies. Please note: Materials, coatings, temperature tolerances, and assembly methods vary between models. Specific instructions and safety guidelines supplied with your product always take priority over the general advice in this guide.
1. Pots & Pans Care Guidelines
Before First Use
Remove all packaging, stickers, and protective films. Wash the cookware in warm water with a mild washing-up liquid and a soft sponge, then rinse and dry thoroughly. For non-stick or ceramic-coated cookware, follow the manufacturer's specific first-use instructions; some products may recommend lightly applying a small amount of cooking oil to condition the surface before initial heating.
Temperature Control & Hob Matching
- Coated Cookware (Non-Stick & Ceramic): Use low to medium heat settings for everyday cooking. Excessive, dry overheating can degrade non-stick surfaces and shorten coating lifespan.
- Uncoated Cookware (Stainless Steel & Cast Iron): Can accommodate higher searing temperatures, but preheating should be gradual.
- Hob Ring Matching: Always align the base of your pan with an appropriately sized hob burner. On gas hobs, do not allow open flames to extend up the sides of the pan, as this can discolour finishes and scorch handles.
- Avoid Thermal Shock: Never plunge a hot frying pan directly into cold water. Sudden temperature shifts can warp heavy metal bases and fracture internal coatings. Allow cookware to cool naturally to room temperature before washing.
Utensils & Routine Cleaning
- Utensil Selection: Use wooden, silicone, or heat-resistant nylon utensils. Avoid metal spatulas, sharp knives, or whisks on non-stick or ceramic interiors to prevent scratching.
- Cleaning Methods: Hand-washing with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge is recommended to prolong exterior luster and coating performance. Even where a pan is marked as dishwasher-safe, aggressive dishwasher detergents and high drying heats may dull finishes over time.
- What to Avoid: Never use steel wool, wire scourers, abrasive scouring powders, oven cleaners, or concentrated bleach.
2. Wash Stands & Utility Prep Stations
Assembly & Structural Stability
Assemble wash stands on a flat, even floor surface following the supplied step-by-step assembly manual. Ensure all screws, bolts, and frame braces are tightened securely before loading the unit. Adjust levelling feet where provided to eliminate any wobbling. Never exceed the stated maximum load capacity for sinks, shelves, or hanging hooks.
Plumbing & Drainage Considerations
Our wash stands range from modular utility prep tables to freestanding sink units. Please review the specific product description for included drainage fittings. Where a wash stand requires permanent connection to mains water supplies or domestic waste drainage pipes, we strongly advise consulting a qualified plumber to ensure watertight, compliant installation.
Moisture Maintenance
Stainless steel or powder-coated wash stand frames should be wiped dry following intensive washing-up sessions to minimise limescale spots and detergent residue. Clean surfaces periodically with a soft damp cloth and mild neutral detergent, then buff dry.
3. General Kitchen Safety Precautions
- Hot Handles: Cookware handles (especially all-metal or cast iron designs, and pans used inside ovens) can become extremely hot during cooking. Always use oven gloves or silicone heat pads when handling hot cookware.
- Child Safety: Turn pan handles inwards towards the rear of the hob so they cannot be accidentally knocked or reached by young children.
- Inspect Regularly: Periodically check that saucepan handles and lid knobs remain firmly attached. If screws become loose, tighten them with a suitable screwdriver before further use. Do not continue using cookware or wash stands that display structural cracks or severe damage.
